The Challenge
3D printing and CAD modeling have steep learning curves that prevent broader adoption. Educational content was either too technical for beginners or too superficial for professionals. Need: accessible courses for ages 7-70, professional training for companies, and specialized medical education content.
What I Built
Public Makerspace Teaching (7 years):
- Taught 3D modeling and printing to ages 7-70 at public makerspace
- Developed age-appropriate curriculum: sculpting for children, technical CAD (OnShape) for adults
- Created hands-on project-based learning approach
Corporate Course Design:
- 3D modeling training at Wayfair for professional design teams
- Designed educational courses for NVBots (3D printing company)
- Contributed to Formlabs' educational help content including detailed video series on designing for 3D printing
- Represented Formlabs at multiple trade shows presenting on 3D printing and education
- Conducted webinars on 3D printing applications in manufacturing, medical, and other industries
- Created professional training materials for medical schools and dentistry programs

- Presented at Annual Summit on Biomaterials and Tissues (June 2020): "Good Design: Fighting COVID-19 with Distributed Manufacturing"
- Educational talk at The Gnomon School on 3D printing and modeling

Result
Taught hundreds of students across age ranges and skill levels over 7 years. Created educational content for major 3D printing companies and represented them at industry trade shows. Provided corporate training for companies like Wayfair. Developed methodology for making technical subjects accessible to complete beginners while maintaining depth for advanced learners.
