Composite Vehicle Frame Design
The Challenge
A leading material and design supplier needed to demonstrate carbon fiber frame designs to automotive OEM partners exploring lightweight EV architectures. Their engineering teams could handle structural analysis but struggled with the complex organic curvature these frames require. Traditional CAD workflows meant slow iteration and stiff, unrefined forms. They needed someone who could translate engineering constraints into production-viable geometry—fast.
What I Built
I designed the composite structure and modeled the complete body shell and frame, balancing weight reduction targets against manufacturing constraints. The organic modeling approach allowed rapid iteration on complex curvature that would have taken weeks in traditional parametric CAD. I delivered production-ready 3D models and a scaled 3D-printed prototype for physical review.
Result
The design was presented to automotive OEM partners as part of a lightweight vehicle initiative, demonstrating the manufacturing potential of carbon composite frames for the EV market.
