I volunteer and teach at the Watertown Public Library’s makerspace, HATCH. Check out our grand re-opening! (I’m at 1:23): http://wcatv.org/watertown-weekly-news/hatch-grand-reopening/
Hey everyone! Short update. As you may have noticed I’ve been MIA for awhile: this is because I got a new job! I’m now a Senior 3D Artist at Wayfair. What do I do there?
I decided to write this tips list based on my experiences teaching 3D printing and 3D modeling for about three years now at a public Makerspace called HATCH.
Recently I was commissioned to produce a set of renderings for a proposed dog daycare in downtown Boston. I’d like to use this article to talk about my process when tackling these sorts of projects.
Makerspaces are places where people share tools and knowledge to build whatever they want. Developed out of MIT’s “Fab Lab” concept, hundreds have sprouted up all over the country in the last 5-10 years. They function like a community center, with tools – or in the case of Hatch (or HATCH), a “tool collection” and free classroom.
I don’t know if you all have heard of Digital Direct Manufacturing (DDM), but thanks to my work with the SLA 3D printer manufacturer, Formlabs, I have become very familiar with the subject. I recently held a webinar talking about this new wave of manufacturing, and what it is.
At one point I tried to do a drone startup. It failed – here’s how and why.
A bit of where I’ve been traveling and giving talks.
I got picked up by two news websites – one for Industrial Design and one for 3D Printing!
