The Challenge
During COVID-19, standard masks fit poorly because faces vary dramatically. The challenge: create truly custom-fit protection that anyone could access affordably using just their phone.
What I Built
A system using phone-based photogrammetry to 3D scan a user's face, then generate a custom-fit mask design. Users scan their face with their phone camera, receive a personalized mask pattern, and can have it 3D printed. Underwent testing at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Result
Presidential competition finalist; productized and sold to customers
